The humble Percy Pig has somewhat of a cult following. If people aren't devouring them by the bag load they're pouring them in sauce form on their pancakes, or even making cocktails out of them.

But now there's a new craze based around the Marks & Spencer sweets, and it looks like the most delicious one yet.

Introducing the Percy Pig Cake - the latest invention from clever cooks at home which guarantees you'll end up with a cake as pretty as it is delicious.

The recipe for Percy Pig cakes varies depending on the individual. In fact, browsing through the hashtag on Instagram, we've seen everything from Percy Pig cheesecake to vanilla sponge cupcakes to gigantic drip cakes.

But whatever the flavouring and the type of cake, there are certain stylistic tropes that you just can't miss.

Firstly, it's almost always got Percy sweets stuck on top. Secondly, it's slathered with lots and lots of the infamous Percy Pig dessert sauce.

And lastly? It's PINK. (At least in part, there has to be some pink.)
