Cheese Melt Dippers Are Being Taken Off The McDonald's Menu And We're Devastated

OK, we know it's January and that's bad enough, but we have some news that is sure to put a dampener on your day - Cheese Melt Dippers are officially being taken off the McDonald's menu.

We'll just let that sink in...

While we knew the cheesy dippers were only around for a limited period, it's still hit us hard.

Oozing with Emmental and mozzarella cheese and coated in a tasty herb-infused breadcrumb, there's nothing quite like the cheese dippers.

They're ideal for when you're not quite hungry enough to commit to a Big Mac meal or when you fancy something other than fries (rare, yes, but it occasionally happens).

The delightful cheesy side will officially be removed from the menu on Tuesday 28th January so it goes without saying that fans should get them while they can.

The news is guaranteed to devastate many McDonald's fans - especially considering 'Why aren't Cheese Melt Dippers served all year round?' is a question in the restaurant's FAQs page.

The answer?

"Unfortunately, due to kitchen space and specialist equipment requirements, we're limited in the number of food items we're able to offer at any one time. As such, promotional items can come on and off the menu from time to time. Especially the ones we know customers love."

As expected, customers have voiced their upset on Twitter this week.

One even accused them of 'having no heart'. They tweeted: "McDonald's need to stop removing cheese melt dippers from the menu. The person who deals with the menu setup really [has] no heart or feelings to remove cheese from the menu!!! RUDE."

The sad news doesn't end there, either. McDonald's will also say goodbye to The Big Tasty and The Big Tasty with Bacon on the same date.

The burgers returned as part of the fast food restaurant's Christmas menu but as of the 28th, they'll also be no more.

Tragically, the Spicy Chicken Nuggets will also be axed to make room for other promotional delights.
