From the smooth and chocolatey Galaxy Caramel to the controversial Bounty, the question of the nation's favourite Celebration has divided countless families over the festive period - but it looks like there could finally be an answer to this age-old debate.

A survey asking Brits what their favourite chocolate is came out with some surprising results about our festive food choices.

According to a poll carried out by Mars Wrigley UK, makers of the delicious chocolate selection tub, the Celebration we're likely to choose above all is the Maltesers Teasers, which won with 22 per cent of the vote.

This was closely followed by the nation's second favourite chocolate, the Galaxy Caramel, a festive fave for 21 per cent of those asked.

Perhaps surprisingly for those families divided over the Bounty, this coconut chocolate also came out favourably in the poll, with 19 per cent of the nation opting for a Bounty over other chocolates in the Celebrations box.

But the food survey didn't stop at chocolate.

For those who prefer debates over whether the roast potatoes or pigs-in-blankets are the ultimate Christmas food, it also found that roasties came in at number one for the nation's favourite foods of Christmas dinner, at 41 per cent.

This was followed by turkey (33 per cent), pigs in blankets (31 per cent) and stuffing (20 per cent), while, perhaps surprisingly, 20 per cent of those who preferred Bounty also liked Brussels sprouts.

Hannah Vose, Celebrations' senior brand manager said: "Every year we enjoy seeing the debates rage about the nation's favourite Celebrations, although it was surprising to see that the Brits who opted against Bounty hadn't eaten it for a number of Christmas'."

"It's not uncommon for our sense of taste to change over time," Hannah continued, "so whether you're adverse to Bounty or even Brussels sprouts, we'd suggest you give it a chance this holiday season - who knows, you could be in for a Christmas miracle!"

Whatever your choice of Celebration this Christmas, it seems as though the debate could well be raging over the festive period.
