It may only be July, but Christmas has come early for white chocolate fans as Cadbury has unveiled an array of tantalising white chocolate treats that will be exclusively available at Asda.

The chocolatiers have answered the prayers of the sweet toothed among us and are set to release a new range including a sumptuous White Chocolate Block, landing in Asda stores on Thursday, 29th August.

Joining the white chocolate block on the supermarket's shelves are delectable Cadbury White Buttons for £1, and the White Chocolate Freddo Treasures, costing 65p.

The white chocolate trio will be available nationwide at the supermarket chain indefinitely. Yes, you heard that correctly, INDEFINITELY. White chocolate fiends you've been told!

Let's be honest the countdown is now on to get our mitts on the delicious chocolate treats.

The news comes hot on the heels of Kellogg's, who recently introduced a white chocolate version of its best-selling Coco Pops breakfast cereal, for the first time in the brand's 59-year history, in response to customer demand.

And the newbie isn't just a winner for chocolate fans but health-conscious consumers, too.

It boasts 30 per cent less sugar on average than other chocolate rice cereals as well as no artificial colours or flavours.

"We had the idea to make a white chocolate flavoured Coco Pops when working in our food development kitchen on a new reduced sugar recipe for the original Coco Pops cereal.

"We knew fans were asking for it so we developed a prototype, which uses three basic ingredients, and tried it out with Kellogg's staff who loved it," explained Sara Ashley, Kellogg's food technician.

The cereal is available in Tesco and Asda stores for £2.99 and Twitter users have already started sharing their excitement at the news of the launch.
