Christmas food is often rich in tradition and taste, and there's so much to look forward to, from the succulent turkey to the stuffing, veg and tasty sweet treats and goodies you've got in store for dessert.
We can't forget about the drinks reserved for the yuletide period either, whether it's the eggnog, wine or cider.
But what has been voted the most popular festive treat of all?
People have voted for their favourite Christmas food on Ranker and after more than 20,000 votes, the winner has been announced.
Drumroll please....
It turns out Christmas cookies are the best Christmas food ever, according to you, the general public!
The top choice may come as a surprise to many people who thought turkey, potatoes, or mulled wine would snatch the top spot.
But the more we think about it, the more it makes sense.
Christmas cookies are quite a common gift left for Santa on Christmas Eve night across the world, and they're the perfect item to snack on throughout the day, even after a bucket full of roasties.
Believe it or not, turkey - the Christmas dinner centrepiece for many families - was actually voted the 11th best Christmas food.
In fact, the entire top five is made up of decadent sweet treats.
Hot chocolate was the runner up, followed by Christmassy, red and white striped candy canes, which always look so adorable dangling from the Christmas tree.
Christmas dinner also includes an array of side dishes that cannot be forgotten.
And it turns out we favour the sides more than our mains, seeing as mashed potato, ham and stuffing were the only savoury options in the top 10.
We can't discuss Christmas dinner without mentioning one of the more controversial offerings - Christmas cake. The fruit cake is either loved or hated - and for some, it's a truly a Christmas nightmare.
Others are clearly into it, though, as Christmas cake made it to number 30 on the list.
Here's a list of the top 10 best Christmas foods:
