ASDA Is Selling A Supersized Mince Pie For Christmas

The sweet festive treat is three times the size of a normal mince pie, making the regular ones look minuscule in comparison.

Supermarket giant ASDA is selling the dessert for just £1.50, and it measures seven inches in diameter, three and half centimetres deep and weighs 435g.

Product developer for ASDA Ciara Loker said: "Mince pies are a staple of the festive season, and customers are increasingly looking for new and exciting varieties they can enjoy over the festive season.

"Following feedback that one was never enough, we wanted to create a delicious dessert guests can enjoy, one slice at a time."

The tasty Christmas dessert has a buttery, crumbly pastry filled with juicy sultanas, raisins, festive peel and cranberries.

It is then topped with a pastry lattice, and sprinkled with icing sugar for a Christmassy snow-like finish.

ASDA's giant mince pie will be in-store from 22nd November when the Christmas season is in full swing.

Mince pies are a festive staple, and you can't go to bed on Christmas eve without leaving one out for Santa Claus.

These bite-sized desserts take a twist on the traditional mincemeat filling by adding a gooey salted caramel to the inside of the pastry case, and it's just as delicious as it sounds.

Aldi was selling them last year, but the price has gone up this time around from £1.69 for a six pack to £1.99, so it still won't break the bank.

The specially selected flavoured mince pies in salted caramel are already in-store.
