Easter is a time for roast chicken, tonnes of chocolate - and according to ASDA, pizza?
The supermarket giant is now offering a very unique savoury twist to a classic sweet and sticky Easter treat with their brand new pizza-flavoured hot cross buns.
Intrigued? We certainly are.
New for 2021 (and coming after a year which has turned everything on its head), ASDA is serving up the Extra Special Tomato and Red Leicester Hot Cross Buns.

The new treat bring the much-loved tomato and cheese taste notes of pizza into hot cross bun form for an Easter taste sensation. Combining two of the UK's favourite foods, the flavour innovation is sure to become an Easter staple - or become as divisive as Marmite.
ASDA has never been one to shy away from a unique flavour combination when it comes to the humble hot cross bun, having previously launched the Extra Special Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns for chocoholics, and the Extra Special Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns - a change from the usual dried fruit found in the Easter treat.
Speaking about the pizza-flavoured buns, ASDA's Hot Cross Bun Product Developer Becky Price explained: "We're always looking for fun and innovative products that bring people together and get people talking - and there's no better product than the humble Hot Cross Bun to spark conversation!

The pizza buns are not the only new addition to ASDA's impressive hot cross bun collection this year.
The store has also launched the Extra Special St Clements Hot Cross Buns to its range featuring Spanish lemon peel and orange zest and filled with vine fruits - bringing the flavours of Mediterranean citrus to the comfort of your own home as well as Baker's Selection White Chocolate and Caramel Hot Cross Buns (which sound absolutely gorgeous).
