Aldi have just launched the prosecco of your dreams to help you stick to your new year's resolutions (although maybe not to Dry January).

The budget supermarket has just announced that it is selling low-calorie prosecco - and it's just £8.99 a bottle.

With just 63 calories in each glass of Aldi's La Gioiosa Colleziona Oro Prosecco, the booze is the lowest calorie option of bubbles UK supermarkets have to offer. You'll save yourself 120 calories per bottle.

Not only that, the new fizz contains half the amount of sugar as an average bottle to make it lower in calories than usual, which in turn means it's just as good for your hangover as it is for your waistline.

Sugary alcoholic drinks can make your head pound harder the morning after and give you that bloated feel, so this prosecco is perfect if you want to wake up super fresh the next day - and not like you had one too many the night before.

Aldi says that the tipple is a drier style of the Italian sparkling wine because of its lower sugar content, with flavours of ripe golden apple which 'makes it an excellent apéritif' for every occasion.

The supermarket's Manager Direcor of Buying Julie Ashfield said of the fizz: "We know that our shoppers are passionate about their Prosecco, having seen sales increase for fizz year on year, but also recognise that the trend for lower-calorie drinks is becoming increasingly popular.

"This latest launch of our low-calorie Prosecco demonstrates our commitment to catering to all customers tastes and lifestyles, with a fantastic quality product that is perfect for those looking to lead a balanced lifestyle, without cutting out treats altogether."
