Kitchen renovations can often cost thousands and involve stripping out all work surfaces and counters, leaving your kitchen off-limits for weeks on end.

Well not for this woman, who transformed her entire kitchen for the meagre sum of roughly £45 in a matter of hours.

Amba Douglas, from Maidstone in Kent "hated" her old pine-effect kitchen, and decided to do something about it.

Inspired by a post she had seen on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains, the woman headed to B&Q to pick up some marble effect Fablon costing just £6.50 a roll and a gloss paint at £18 in a bid to achieve her dream kitchen.

Just 24 hours later, Amba posted the results on the same Facebook group - and they're super impressive.

While the before photos showed pine cupboards and an underwhelming faux-wood kitchen top, her new kitchen sparkled, displaying sleek white cabinets with a marble effect work top.

What an improvement.

Captioning the photos she wrote: "Moving in to my new place this week and hated the kitchen I see a post on here yesterday that was amazing about revamping the kitchen for around 45 pound so today I took myself to B&Q and revamped my kitchen! (sic)

"I'm so in love. Thank you to whoever posted yesterday you have saved me a fortune."

Amba was inspired by a fellow member of the group, Stuart Renton from Clydebank, who posted photos of a similar kitchen transformation a few days earlier.

Again, Stuart used the Fablon rolls to transform his dreary work top into something far more chic. He also purchased some navy paint to tend to his cupboards.

"My personal bargain of the week was transforming my kitchen for just £47.50!! Everything was from B&Q," he wrote.

It appears her fellow bargain hunters were impressed with her handiwork, as her post amassed 3,000 likes in less than ten hours.

Excuse us while we run down to B&Q on our lunch break...
