Oh My Cod You Can Now Buy Fish Flops

Can you find a plaice in your heart for these quirky flip-flops?

It's the footwear nobody asked for, but you can now buy a pair of fish flops and no, we're not baiting you. (Sorry, in advance for the fin-tastic puns). What on earth are fish flops we hear you ask?

Well, known as Coddies, they are the latest ridiculous and hilarious footwear to wear to the beach (we literally can't think of anywhere else appropriate to wear these but each to their own), made from a lightweight elastic material that is wear-resistant and anti-slip.

Don't be a codfish, up your footwear game this season. (

So no, they are not made from reel fish. My cod we're relieved.

Whilst, we're not sure if we've fallen hook line and sinker (we already said sorry) for the shoes, we think they provide a great oppor-tuna-ty to bag your pals or loved ones a quirky stocking filler or secret Santa gift that won't cost you the earth.

Coddies come in five different colourways. (

You can snap a pair up for under £20 - there is no need to flounder away too much money.

Children's versions start at £12.99, but the different colours and designs vary in price, whilst adult versions are £14.99-£16.99 and they're available on Amazon here.

If you're unconvinced, well, let us tell you that these are hot property. Apparently Dua Lipa, Zoella and Greg James have both been spotted in pairs of Coddies.

If celebs are donning them, they must be cool, right?

You can buy them in pink, green, blue, orange and silver ranging in size from a one to a 10.5 (UK), so you and other family members can match!

And despite the hilarity of these shoes, Amazon reviewers are singing their praises.

Another reviewer said they were comfy but not to walk very far in. (

One reviewer commented on how well made they are, stressing that they "aren't just novelty footwear".

This reviewer thought the shoes were fin-tastic. (

Another said she'd bought the shoes as a house shoe for the mucky floors of university accommodation and she added that the "soles are padded with a type of foam inside and are fairly comfortable to wear".

This reviewer's girlfriend was glad hers weren't too fishy. (

Another said they had bought them as a joke, but on discovering they were "made by the angels of comfort" they are now never leaving her feet. A pretty complimentary review.

One joker said their girlfriend "was a bit concerned to begin with as she was unsure if she needed to feed them". The review in general was pun-loaded and we are here for it.

Given that these fishy slip-ons are getting rave reviews... We might just slip a pair into our baskets after all.
