The Duchess of Sussex wore the most amazing ballgown for the Australian Geographic Society gala last night.

When you think of royalty, you often think of corgis, crowns, and beautiful ballgowns, so it was no surprise that Meghan Markle wore such an impressive dress for the occasion.

Meghan hasn't let becoming a royal change her style, and her royal tour of Tonga and Australia with Prince Harry has proved just that.

While giving out awards alongside her husband Prince Harry at the gala, Meghan wore a stunning one-off designer gown.

The Oscar de la Renta dress was fit for royalty with a with a cropped tulle skirt and sheer lace neckline.

It was finished with embellishments by Parisian designer, Sarah Esmoingt in a gorgeous ombré bird design.

If it wasn't for the £10,000 price tag and the fact it isn't available to buy, we would be on our way to grab one of our own now.

Meghan paired the dress with a simple pair of black court shoes and her signature natural makeup look.

During the event, the Queen was honoured with a special award for conservation for her initiative to highlight the plight of the world's forests.

The award, for her 'outstanding contribution' to global conservation, was accepted on her behalf by the Duke of Sussex, who gave a speech on protecting the planet.

The prince said: "We cannot continue to pollute the oceans with plastics and other wastes. We cannot continue to breathe polluted air while cutting down our forests or without reducing emissions.

"We cannot stand by and let our wildlife disappear from the earth and our fish from the seas. I think we can agree tonight that there cannot be any more excuses.

"Thanks to the tireless efforts of everyone in this room and the environmentalists and conservationists of the past, we are ready to translate our awareness into action.

"It is going to take every single one of us to stop the clock on the destruction of our planet, and time is not on our side."
