We are so ready for this.

Glow Up is the show that brought us edge-of-seat viewing as we watched two contestants execute a flawless feline flick to a timer or dash their dreams of becoming the country's next makeup superstar.

It was amazing, and luckily for us the second series is just around the corner. Eek!

Starting on Thursday 14th May, Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star series 2 will see 10 brand new budding MUAs compete in challenges to earn a name for themselves in the competitive industry.

Returning as host is Stacey Dooley, who will be officiating all the crease-based dramz, as well as tough but lovable industry icons and show judges, Val Garland and Dominic Skinner. There will also be a guest judge each week to help out.

The judges will decide "who glows and who goes" as they whittle down the amateur MUAs week-by-week.

In episode one - which will land on iPlayer from 7pm on the 14th - viewers will meet the ten aspiring makeup wizards as the series kicks off with their first challenge. And by the sounds of things they aren't easing them in slowly.

The contestants will be tasked with an assignment from sports fashion retailers JD sports who are shooting their Christmas ad campaign. Here, they'll be following a brief that focussed on brand identity.

Successful MUAs will see their work featured in the global campaign, while those who fail to impress risk starting the following day's challenge in the 'Face Off' chairs which come with a potentially-ruining 15 minute time penalty.

The only way to escape the elimination is to impressed the judges in the Creative Brief, which this week, will see the contestants asked to create a look on their own face based on identity.

The two who least impress will go head to head in the first elimination skill drill: a bold ombre lip on two identical twins.

Last year's series saw the first batch of MUAs take on professional assignments and creative tasks such as assisting backstage on fashion week shows, creating looks to feature in magazines, working on looks for the cast of Kinky Boots, painting the faces of supermodels such as Leomie Anderson and creating drag looks.

Ellis Hill was crowned the winner of series one, and his accolade has since seen him on Val Garland's team at Cannes Film Festival, assisting with red carpet looks for celebrities.

But who will take the crown this year? Well, we'll be one step closer to finding out soon...
