Winter is well and truly upon us and with it comes a change in style - whether that's as simple as more cosy knits and chunky boots, or something more drastic like a new hairstyle.

And if you're thinking the latter, we have just the style for you, but brace yourselves, it's vibrant.

Naturally, we've dubbed it 'Elsa hair' because it reminds us of the icy queen in Frozen, with her bright white blonde hair and blue dress - it pays homage to the much-loved animated Disney film, which is ideal timing given that Frozen II is in cinemas.

And it looks as though you can achieve the look in a number of ways. Ombré and balayage looks the obvious route into Elsa life, but whether you choose to have blue or white at the crown of your head is up to you.

Another way to secure the look appears to be with a subtle blue dye with white highlights all over. Both look epic tbh.

Speaking of the fabulous hairstyle, award-winning hairdresser Ashley Gamble (Ashley-gamble.co.uk) said: "Frozen 2 aficionados can make their dreams come true with this gorgeous winter wonderland hair.

"Cascading from violet and lavender into aquamarine and the sweetest of baby blue, this enviable look finishes with the clearest of icicle white.

"It's like a dusting of frost has settled on the tips of the strands, but despite the cold colours, the faded turquoise and lightest of alabaster marble blonde is so touchable and when styled into gentle waves it gives lots of body and movement like Elsa's voluminous locks.

"The key to achieving this look is lifting your hair to the lightest base so that the mauves and blues have the best chance of taking well.

"Your salon stylist will have the professional products to achieve this purity of colour without inflicting damage.

Adding: "Bleach lightens hair by stripping pigment out, so when you're wanting to go for the frostiest, most delicate blonde, you're not going to get this with counter bought kits."

He told Tyla that when you get to the salon, ask for a "blend of blues and lilacs with a root stretch in a contrasting darker shade," but added that it works best on naturally light hair and provided you avoid chlorine and salt.

It's definitely a winter colour where you won't be hitting the pool!

And what better time to undergo a transformation than as we approach a brand new decade? It's time to 'Let (it) go'.

Here's to a bright 2020.
