ASOS Has Made Some Major Changes To Its Return Policy

The brand sent a lengthy email explaining the changes to its customers.

If you're a serial ASOS shopper then you're going to want to read this, as the online retailer is changing its return policy.

In an email sent to its customers, ASOS revealed it had changed the return period from 28 days to 45 days, which means shoppers have longer to decide whether they wish to keep hold of their purchases or send them back.

"We know easy returns are one of the (many) reasons you shop with us, so we've increased the time you can return stuff from 28 days to 45 days," the brand wrote in an email.

However, ASOS also revealed it will be cracking down on the possibility of fraud, which means if you're frequently purchasing and returning clothes then you could find yourself a suspect.

"We also need to make sure our returns remain sustainable for us and for the environment," email continued, "so if we notice any unusual pattern, we might investigate and take action. It's unlikely to affect you, but we wanted to give you a little heads up."

However, the brand doesn't want shoppers to worry because it'll be able to spot the difference between someone who's buying clothes that don't fit, and someone who's buying clothes to wear and then return.

"If we notice an unusual pattern of returns activity that doesn't sit right: e.g. we suspect someone is actually wearing their purchases and then returning them or ordering and returning loads - way, waaay more than even the most loyal ASOS customer would order - then we might have to deactivate the account and any associated accounts."

Obviously, it's only a minority of people who do things like this, meaning genuine ASOS customers have nothing to worry about - but hopefully it'll discourage offenders from defrauding the brand we all love, because it's certainly not worth not being able to order from ASOS again.
