Man's 'Handwritten' Proposal Sparks Debate

Man's 'Handwritten' Proposal Sparks Debate

Hmmm…it’s a no from us.

Some people mark getting engaged as one of the most romantic and heartfelt moments of their lives, and have very specific ideas in how they want their partner to pop the question.

But as one woman proudly announced her boyfriend had proposed with a huge Pandora ring, others voiced their opinion that his marriage request just wasn’t up to scratch.

It was this ring, and note, that stirred debate (

Yikes.

The thrilled woman in question had taken to Facebook to announce the happy news, showing a large teardrop ring on her engagement finger.

Alongside her ring was a note written by the woman’s partner, where he’d asked her the all-important question.

The note reads: “Happy Mother’s Day! Me and Monk love you so much. Thank you for being such a good Mother to her.

"I was going to wait until I got home to do this but I wanted to make you happy as soon as you got up. I Hope you like it. Its prob to big because you told me the wrong size lol. Oh well, I love you!

"PS Want to get married some time?"

The woman captioned the post: “He isn't really the best with being romantic but this is the best note ever!”

While the news is lovely and many of this woman’s friends and loved ones likely sent their well-wishes, one particularly bitchy woman decided to share the picture on a ring-shaming Facebook group.

While we admit the large, dazzling ring won’t be to everyone’s tastes, it was the way the man proposed that set tongues wagging in the group.

“Tell me this man did not propose as a PS in a note while he wasn’t home,” one person commented.

Another said: “I’m getting second hand embarrassment,” while a third person rudely chipped in: “Nothing says happily ever after like proposing with a note."

But not everyone hated the idea (

However, not everyone was against the sentiment.

“I think the note is kind of cute!” one person said.

Well, it wouldn’t be the way we’d want to be proposed to – but if this woman is happy, then we’re happy for her!
