Marvel fans now have something else to look forward to! After the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced the MCU into an extended hiatus, it has now been confirmed that a new Avengers-themed section of Disneyland will be ready to open this year.

Officially known as the Avengers Campus, the new site has been under construction at Disney's California Adventure park for a while now. It was initially set to open in July 2020, but the date has since been rescheduled.

Disney executives have not confirmed when it expects to reopen its doors to the public, with the theme park forced to remain closed for the majority of last year.

The company gave the update about its Avengers-inspired theme park this week in an email update sent to members of the D23 Disney fan club.

Specific details about what visitors may see at the Avengers Campus are being kept under wraps for now, but if the already-opened Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout ride is anything to go by, it's going to be pretty impressive. The new section will see a number of other new attractions added to the park, including a Spider-Man-themed ride and an Ant-Man and the Wasp-themed restaurant, as well as a range of immersive experiences featuring all the iconic Marvel characters.

Comic Book reports that the 'Marvel Theme Park Universe' is based on a parallel universe to the MCU. It's going to be an amazing trip for Marvel fans, that's for sure!

In other Marvel news, there are several films in phase 4 of the MCU that are set to premiere later this year. As things currently stand, Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, will be Marvel's next blockbuster on 7th May 2021.

Two months later Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released on 9th July 2021. In the latter months of the year, Eternals, which was originally slated to be released in November 2020 will premiere 5th November 2021. Finally, the untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel will be out in time for Christmas on 17th December 2021.

We're adding this to our bucket list!
