It wouldn't be Christmas without a festive film outing in the calendar - and you can always rely on pop-up movie masters Luna Cinema to deliver the best flicks in spectacular settings.

This season is no different, with the Luna team returning to the historic royal home of Kensington Palace.

Famed as the home of Kate and Wills, and a royal residence for over 300 years, the palace's grand architecture and lush landscaped grounds make it a magical backdrop for watching a holiday classic.

Screenings take place from 15-23 December in the Pavilion. Located on the Orangery Lawn of the Palace, the space has been transformed with a deep purple lighting scheme and canopies of hanging fairy lights to create a spellbinding winter cinema experience.

It's a strong movie line-up too, ranging from festive rom-com megahits like The Holiday (2006) and Love Actually (2003) to Christmas comedy favourites Elf (2003) and Home Alone (1990).

If a vintage classic has more appeal, Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life (1946) is due to screen, and music lovers are catered for too, with screenings of 2019's Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and showbiz extravaganza The Greatest Showman (2017).

Scrumptious snacks and gourmet popcorn are provided by the onsite Luna Bar, best washed down with a warming mulled wine, beer, prosecco or non-alcoholic drink.

On the hunt for a thoughtful Christmas present? You can now book Luna Cinema gift tickets for friends and family, including the 2020 open air season, featuring over 150 screenings across the country from May to October.

Adult tickets, £18.50.
