Fans of The Good Place will be happy to hear than Kristen Bell's TV comeback is arriving sooner rather than later.

Never one to shy away from high-concept comedies, the actress will star in a new Netflix series called The Woman In The House which sounds like a great companion with another Netflix favourite, Dead to Me.

Kristen will play a "wine-chugging, heartbroken" single woman in the dark, murder comedy and she will also serve as an executive producer.

Will Ferrell will executive produce the show for Gloria Sanchez Productions, the same company behind the Netflix hit Dead to Me and we expect a similar dark-comedic tone for Kristen's new show too.

The Woman In The House was created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf, the creators of the sitcom Nobodies.

Kristen's character Anna sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her - just like many of us during lockdown this year. But when a handsome neighbour moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder... or did she?

Kristen most recently starred as Eleanor Shellstrop in the fantasy comedy series The Good Place for four seasons between 2016 and 2020. The twists and turns through the show's run led to dozens of awards, accolades and nominations including fourteen Primetime Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series for seasons three and four.

To celebrate her new role Kristen posted a picture of herself researching for the show, surrounded by books, to her 14.7m Instagram followers. She tagged Netflix and captioned the shot "Some light character research".
