A wellness brand has come under heavy criticism for flying a group of influencers to the Caribbean at the height of the US covid-19 crisis.
Nutrition company Vital Proteins flew the cohort of models and musicians to Saint Barthélemy (St. Barts) on Thursday, despite many Americans are being advised to stay at home.
On the same day, the US recorded 3,862 coronavirus deaths with the country's death toll now standing at 433,174.
The US Bureau of Consular Affairs has classified the French West Indies as a Level 4 (do not travel) due to high covid-19 rates in the region.
But on Thursday, influencers including Candice, Don Benjamin and Liane V were sharing selfies aboard a private jet bound for the Caribbean isle.
Once there, the group could be seen doing yoga, relaxing by the pool and enjoying a meal in their luxury hotel.
Unsurprisingly, the press trip has not gone down well with customers, many of whom vowed never to buy from the Jennifer Aniston-backed brand again.
One wrote: "Is promoting supplements really *that* important? I was fan of their products and brand so this is disappointing to me. Doesn't matter how much pre-travel testing was done - it's a bad look and sends out a terrible message to the thousands of people who buy their products and are staying put at home."
Another added: "The irony of a wellness brand contributing to the potential spread of a gloabl pandemic is MIND-BLOWING."
One Twitter user said: "What in the world do they think they're doing flying people - 'influencers' - to another location/country? Is it really that important to promote whatever supplements or "wellness" they're promoting?"
While one commented: "The rules don't apply to all these days. Just some apparently."
Tyla has reached out to Vital Proteins for comment.
