'Hogwarts Legacy': A New 'Harry Potter' Open World Video Game Is Officially Coming
The moment is finally here, Potterheads.
Named Hogwarts Legacy, players will be able to pick whether they want to join as a witch or a wizard and they will then be sent out into Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry back in the 1800s, way before the Harry Potter saga took place, to learn about magic for themselves.
Check out the trailer below:
They'll be able to learn spells and make decisions as they go which will affect the world around them, brewing potions and coming face to face with fantastic beasts.
Plus, they'll be free to wonder magical locations like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village along the way.
During the game players will "make allies" and "battle Dark wizards" just like Harry did.
This will all happen as they "embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world."

The game, which is developed by Disney Infinity creators Avalanche Software, is reportedly dropping next year, and it will be compatible for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / Series S.
It comes from Warner Bros.' Portkey Games team, who work on all their Harry Potter gaming content.
Recent reports from Bloomberg claim that Harry Potter author and creator J.K Rowling, has not been heavily involved in the project.
This is news that some will be happy to hear following the recent transgender rights row she sparked on Twitter.
A source told Bloomberg that the author's comments towards the transgender community had left them rather stressed, given the amount of work they had put into bringing her world to life.
In the Hogwarts Legacy trailer, we catch a glimpse of multiple fantasy creatures, and a sneak peak into Hogwarts village.
The game was announced during Sony's PS5 showcase, where multiple others were also unveiled, including Final Fantasy XVI.
This sounds utterly magical.
