The Average Parent Hides In The Bathroom At Least Seven Times To Escape Their Kids Over Summer
But if you thought your time with the kids was stressful, it might make you feel better to know that the average parent admits to hiding in a locked bathroom at least SEVEN times over the six-week break just to get a breather from their children.
Drayton Manor Park surveyed 2,000 mums and dads, and the findings revealed that fed up mums and dads are driven to take refuge from their offspring to avoid tears, tantrums and squabbles as the holidays drag on, and we can totally relate. Not only that, the average parent will also have to break up 13 physical fights between brothers and sisters.
No wonder they've all taken to hiding in the loo!
And it doesn't even stop there - there will be six public tantrums to deal with, grandparents called in up to six times to help, two dropped ice-creams and seven trips to the swimming pool.
We're most mortified about the dropped ice-creams TBF.
Those who were looking for a relaxing weekend during the hols also kissed that idea goodbye, as the same study showed that the kids will wake up early no less than six times - which could explain the fact there's an average of six arguments between the parents too.

If you've struggled to find ways to keep your little ones busy over the holiday then you're not alone.
The study also found that 36 per cent of mum and dads say they feel guilty if they don't have an activity planned every day, with a whopping 93 per cent wishing there were more fun things to do as a family during the summer.
"For many, the summer holidays are the best time of the year, but we know all too well how difficult it can be to find things to keep everyone happy, particularly as we get further into the holidays," says William Bryan, Managing Director at Drayton Manor Park.
"Whether it's finding the perfect activity for the whole family to enjoy, or trying to stop the kids from moaning about being bored - it seems the holidays can be a real challenge for parents trying to keep everyone happy, particularly as we get further into the holidays."
Lucky the end is in sight, hey?
