Jamaican Lottery Winner Wears Full 'Scream' Costumer To Claim Cheque

Known only as A. Campbell, the winner made sure nobody knew who he was as he picked up his huge winnings.

While there is a pretty slim chance of you ever winning big on the lottery (sorry to burst your bubble), if you are anything like us, you have probably already promised all your family and friends a big chunk of your hypothetical winnings.

But would you want those people to know actually about your win and share it? While most of us would probably like to think so, one person went to extreme lengths to ensure that nobody knew about his lottery win.

The Jamaican lottery winner picked up his cheque while wearing a full costume from slasher movie Scream (wisely choosing to omit the blade).

It's unclear whether his nearest and dearest know of his win - maybe he just didn't fancy being papped by hundreds of cameras at the time.

Identified only as 'A. Campbell', the winner picked up his cheque for a whopping $158.4 million in the Super Lotto jackpot. However, this sum is considerably less whopping when you convert it from Jamaican dollars to pound sterling at £907,000 - but we would be in no way complaining to have a million in the bank.

It took A. Campbell 54 days to come forward and claim his winnings. Super Lotto owners Supreme Ventures put out ads to encourage the unidentified winner to come forward before the 90-day deadline elapsed.

However, it just seems like A. Campbell was pretty shell-shocked by his winnings and had been feeling unwell ever since he realised he won.

Campbell told St Lucia News: "I looked at my ticket and ran into my bathroom and said, 'I won! I won!'

"From the day I found out that I won, I've been sick.

"My head hurt me for three days because I was thinking so much, [wondering] if what I've been longing for really came true. I had a belly ache for two weeks, sometimes I feel so much pain I forgot that I had won."

And it sounds like he won't be blowing the cash in one go in a wild shopping spree, as he's planning on buying a house first.

He said: "I want to get a house, I want to get a nice house. I haven't found it yet, but I'll be looking for one soon."

Congratulations again, A. Campbell.
