A 10-year-old boy was kicked out of a Nando's restaurant in Edinburgh while on a date with his 'wee girlfriend' for being 'too young' to dine without an adult.
The young boy pulled out all the stops to take his girl to the chicken chain to impress with wings, peri-peri salted chips and a bottomless fizzy drink.
But, according to the little chap's sister, the 'couple' were 'kicked out' of the branch as they were too young to be dining on their own.
Instead, they had to eat their delicious dinners as a takeaway outside on a bench rather than inside the restaurant.

Taking to Twitter, the lad's sister shared: "OMG I can't!!!!!!!!
"My wee brother is 10 years old and he took his wee 'gf' on a date to Nando's and they didn't let them sit in cause they had to be 13 so they made them eat a takeaway out side on a bench!!!!!!! and he paid I cannnnntttttt [sic]."
Hitting out at the restaurant chain's policies, she added: "Shame on Nando's."

His sister didn't reveal whether the date was a success, but the tweet quickly went viral, prompting other fans of the chicken shop to rant at the restaurant's rules.
"Nando's UK have a word," fumed one person, while another echoed: "NAH I'm crying really tears what the hell."
Following the influx of angry replies from customers to the original tweet, Nando's has apologised for 'cramping' the boy's style, but has stuck by its word.

Explaining alcohol licenses in Scotland, a Nando's spokesperson said: "We know that nobody wants to go on a date with their parents in tow but unfortunately it's a legal requirement of our alcohol license in Scotland that all under-13's must be accompanied by an adult.
"We hope that the date went well and we're sorry if we cramped his style."
