Britain could face the worst weather since Storm Hannah this weekend, according to experts.

The Met Office have put out a yellow weather warning today, claiming we should expect potential flooding, 50mph gales and heavy storms.

They state the wind is set to be particularly bad in the South-West of England on Friday, persisting from 3pm until midnight.

Meanwhile, heavy rain can also be expected in England and Scotland all day, with fears that hail could also follow suit.

Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna told The Sun: "Our main concern on Friday will be the rain, we could see one or two inches in a few hours by the end of Friday, we are also expecting thundery outbreaks and there could be hail in the mix as well."

Saturday is looking equally bleak, as meteorologists have warned of strong winds will hit the whole of England and thunderstorms on the north border.

Plus, thunderstorms are expected to still be going strong in Scotland, with a risk of buildings flooding as a result.

Marco Petagna added: "In terms of the combination of strong winds and heavy rain it would be fair to say that the next few days will see some of the worst weather conditions since Storm Hannah in April - mainly because of the wind.

"Although it has not been as windy since, there have been a lot of rain and flooding events mainly brought about by intense thundery downpours."

As a result of the weather, lorry drivers, motorcyclists and caravan owners have been told to keep off the road over the weekend if at all possible due to the heavy winds.

It comes after Storm Hannah caused havoc four months ago. The 80mph winds were so bad that over 30,000 homes lost power in Ireland as it hit.

Plus, travel was hugely impacted after roads and railways became blocked as a result of falling trees.

Stay safe out there, guys!
