In spooky news, there's going to be a rare blue moon this Halloween and, honestly, the timing of this one is creeping us out a bit.

While we're all busy trick-or-treating or eating our way through the chocolates and sweets we're meant to be giving out on 31st October, the sky will be lit up by a full moon. And not just any full moon.

Although the moon won't actually alter its appearance like it does when we experience a blood moon (sadly!), a blue moon actually happens when we experience two full moons in one calendar month.

We'll see our first full moon of the month on 1st October and it just so happens that we'll see the second one on the spookiest night of the year. Creepy AF!

And, stranger still for this year, instead of there being just 12 full moons in a year, there will be 13 full moons in 2020. And honestly, we're even more creeped out now!

Could this be an omen of some kind, or a sign that the end times are coming? We certainly hope not!

The last blue moon occurred on 31st March 2018 and this year's offering will be the last blue moon we'll see on Halloween until 2039, so it's definitely worth viewing - even if we're risking a glimpse of the werewolves!

So, if you've ever made any promises under the proviso of 'in a blue moon', we'd strongly suggest you take note of them now - and possibly go into hiding.

And, for those of us staying in this Halloween, a Hocus Pocus-themed board game is coming, based on the classic 1993 film.

Best of all, the family-friendly game has been designed to look like the infamous 'Book' in the film, so you can really get into the spirit.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for spooky attire to wear on the night, Disney's matching dog and owner Halloween jumpers are cute yet scary.

Featuring Mickey Mouse-themed pumpkins and a cute 'BOO' appliqué on the dog jumper, your Halloween will be sorted with this fun set.
