'Glee' Star Naya Rivera Missing After Son Was Found Alone On A Boat In Lake

Naya, who played Satana Lopez in the series, is reported to have rented a boat for her and her four-year-old son to take out onto the lake, at around 1pm yesterday.

But just hours later, another person who was also out on the lake, found her son in the boat asleep by himself. Police were notified and a search began.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the child told police that the pair had been swimming, but that Naya never got back into the boat.

Rescue dive teams, drones and helicopters have been dispatched to the scene, which was halted at dusk last night and is expected to resume at first light this morning.

Captain Eric Buschow, of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, is said to have told reporters: "We're going on the belief that she did go in the water, and we've not been able to locate her. This may well be a case of drowning.

"This is a big reservoir, it's deep, these kinds of things happen.

"We don't know all the circumstances. Investigators are working on that, getting as much information as possible."

Just a couple of days ago, Naya had posted a touching image on social media with her son, Josey.

"Just the two of us," she captioned the photograph.

Naya - who starred in Glee from 2009 to 2015, welcomed her son five years ago, with her then husband Ryan Dorsey. The pair split two years ago, in 2018.
