Today not only marks the celebration of National Dog Day but also the 225th day 'lovedogs' Samir and Sabiha have been in a rescue home together.
The pair, who were named 'lovedogs' after their insatiable affection for one another, were found cold and starving in a field before being nurtured back to health in Doncaster's pet rescue centre.

The centre is now calling for a warm home for these pups to be adopted into.
The two dogs were taken in by Tia Rescue back in January after being found by a local dog warden.
With their tails between their legs, thinning fur, protruding ribs and sores all over their bodies, it seemed like there was very little hope for the loveable creatures. But with each other for comfort, they managed to survive the bitter January cold.
According to the rescue centre, in 7 months their transformation has been remarkable.

From the frail little dogs found back in January, they have since put on weight and wagging their tails for the first time in a very long time.
Despite their long struggle, the pair remained at each other's side and were a dream to look after; they are the 'perfect dogs' says Tia Rescue.
However, the rescue centre says they are still hunting for the ideal owner to give these dogs the much needed TLC they deserve.
Volunteers at the rescue believe a retired couple would be most suitable for the role, but above all they are looking for a family who would be happy to take both dogs

Tia Rescue can house up to around 100 dogs and usually has another 30-40 on waiting list so space is often hard to come by.
Nonetheless, back in 2018 Tia Rescue was awarded a £50,000 grant from Support Adoption for pets to help towards facilities meaning they are able to offer dogs a very high level of care.
For Samira and Sabiha the search continues for their perfect home. If you think you could provide this then go visit https://www.tia-rescue.org/ or call 01302 772 935.
You'll have to beat us to it, though!
