The competition, founded by photographers and conservationists Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, revealed the top 44 images on Friday.
Top entries include a seriously smiley fish, a forlorn bear giving an awkward wave, a grumpy sea turtle and a laughing seal.
The Overall Winners will be announced on 22nd October, with entries judged by a panel of conservationists and wildlife photographers.

This year, Paul and Tom are joining by a judging panel made up of wildlife TV presenter and writer Kate Humble, Photographer Simon Pollock, actor and comedian Hugh Dennis, wildlife photographer Will Burrard-Lucas, and co-founder of Amazing Internet Andrew Skirrow.
