Roll on, July!

Directioners, it's happening. Liam Payne has just pretty much confirmed that the boyband are planning to reform for their 10 year anniversary in July.

The 'Strip That Down' singer has been busy working on a solo career since the band went on hiatus back in 2015 - as have Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.

But he revealed that he is set to be video calling his co-stars in the next couple of days to discuss a special performance for the decade milestone.

Liam first spilled the beans during an interview with The Sun about his new single, 'Midnight', but then later divulged more during an Instagram Live session with DJ Alesso.

Hinting that Zayn wouldn't be making a comeback, Liam said: "We've been trying to arrange the first group FaceTime at the moment. You [Alesso] can come and fill in for Zayn. Join the band".

He added: "I can't say too much. Louis told me off for revealing a bit about our plans the other day. So I had a group telling off on the group chat."

It comes after he told The Sun: "We've got a ten-year anniversary coming up so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice.

"To hear a lot of people's voices and seeing old content and different things that we haven't seen for a long time or never seen before, it's very interesting."

He went on: "At the moment I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say.

"There's a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around.

"But more than anything it's just been a real good time for us to connect together again."

Zayn famously left 1D before their 2015 hiatus, admitting he had begun to find the band's rigorous performing and touring schedule too gruelling.

However, fans were initially given fresh hope that he would be back for a 10 year reunion, after all members of the band re-followed him on Twitter recently.

After their attempt to reconnect, eagle eyed 1D fans started the hashtag #OneDirectionReunion on social media, excitedly pre-empting what could be to come.

But Zayn is yet to follow his co-stars back on the platform, and Liam's comments have now thrown his involvement into doubt.

Come on guys, seeing all five of you back together would be *epic!*
