If you're already dreaming of your summer holiday and escaping the bleak UK or even if you fancy a change for a few months, then one seasonal job is offering applicants the opportunity to travel with their best friend.

Yep, for anyone wanting to literally escape the UK for the summer (wouldn't we all?), this incredible role could be just the ticket out of here. And you can take your BFF with you!

The seasonal barge management role is offering successful candidates the chance to spend the summer abroad, exploring France by boat and getting paid £1100 each a month.

The only catch is that the job listing is looking for a couple, or two friends, who must work as deckhand and hostess when there are guests on the boat, managing private events and dinner parties, providing table service and tidying up at the end of the day.

However, when the barge is not being used, the couple can then use it to explore France at their leisure. Silver Swan Recruitment, who are offering the job, have even suggested friends use it to sail around the waterways of France at leisure.

"When the barge is not in use the couple will be able to use it as they see fit, as long as it is clean and presentable when their next guests arrive," the listing says.

"This means that at times the couple have the chance to explore France at their leisure on a luxurious barge, sampling some of the local wines and taking in the beautiful scenery."

"One day they may be cruising up the River Seine, the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop while another day may be spent gliding along the Nivernais Canal watching the rolling countryside go by."

On top of that sweet pay cheque, all accommodation and meals are provided with the job too and, when guests are on board, there's an opportunity to earn excellent tips too.

And for those of us who haven't worked on a boat before, full training will be given to the successful applicants, including learning how to use the various ropes and knots as well as the radio and navigational equipment.

The job listing calls for "great communication, a history of working together in some shape or form as well as enthusiasm and willingness to learn". We've all got those, right!

"This is a position for an enthusiastic couple who have excellent hospitality experience, are organised and are prepared to journey through the varied waterways of France," the listing adds.

Could there be a better job opportunity for two friends? We think not!
