The number of coronavirus cases in the UK has increased by more than a quarter in 24 hours, with a further 11 patients now infected with the virus, health secretary Matt Hancock has said.
The news was announced this afternoon, just hours after the government released a 28-page 'battle plan' listing how they plan to tackle the disease in the UK.

In a statement to the House of Commons, Matt Hancock said: "The situation facing the country is increasingly serious.
"Globally and at home the number of cases continues to rise.
"As of 9am today there were 51 confirmed cases in the UK and it's becoming more likely that we will see widespread transmission here in this country."
The announcement comes after Boris Johnson chaired an emergency Cobra meeting today where the official government plan on how to tackle and contain the virus was signed off.
The prime minister has said the UK "will stop at nothing" in the fight against coronavirus. This could include retired doctors and nurses returning to the NHS, while people could be urged to work from home.
During the press conference, Boris said it was "highly likely we'll see a growing number of UK cases."
Plans could include seeing up to one in five people off work, as well as mass school closures, reducing social gatherings and working from home.
Police may need to focus on responding to only the most serious crimes, while the military could also be called in to help with emergency services if needs be.
With the cases in the UK continuing to rise, many airlines have began cancelling flights in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, including easyJet, Ryanair and British Airways.
British Airways has cancelled flights to Italy, where the number of coronavirus cases now stands at over 2,000. It has also called off flights to France (which now has 191) and Germany, which has 165 cases of the disease.
Meanwhile, easyJet and Ryanair have heavily reduced their number of flights.
