Dog Abandoned Days Before Christmas Receives Thousands Of Rehoming Offers
A Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was abandoned by his owner just days before Christmas has received thousands of offers of a new home.
Footage of Snoop being abandoned was shared by the RSPCA, which shows him being left on the pavement along with his bed.
In the shocking footage the man then runs back to his car and drives off as the dog jumps up at the car windows trying to get his owner's attention.
Snoop was found an hour late, and was taken the vets and then to the RSPCA, who have now launched an investigation.
He appeared on 'Good Morning Britain' on Thursday with RSPCA inspector Natalie Perehovsky.
Speaking about the man who dumped Snoop, Natalie said: "This is heartbreaking, it's the way he runs after the owner, he clearly loved who was there.
"He was obviously distressed.
"I don't know what was going through their mind when they did that. It could be the expense, it could be family changes, there's hundreds of reasons.
"But there's places that help people, you can take him to charities or dog homes. There's no excuse."
Natalie also revealed that since the footage was released Snoop has had thousands of offers for a new home but he is currently being looked after in kennels.
She also explained that he isn't available for re-homing just yet as they want to know a little bit more about him first.
Natalie added: "He's not for re-homing yet but as soon as he is we will let you know.
"For now, we want to know where he's come from, any bit of information to try and piece together how he got where he was.
"His microchip details are not up to date so we know he's had another home since then."
The footage was captured on the corner of Timor Grove and Pacific Road in Stoke at about 5pm on Monday, 17th December.
Anyone who has any information about Snoop is being urged to come forward to help the RSPCA with their investigation.
