For most of us, our eight-year-old crushes never go further than childhood, but one lovestruck couple, who first met in primary school, have finally tied the knot after spending two decades apart.
Joanne Eden and Adam, both 31, from Plymouth, Devon, first met aged eight at school in 1996, when Adam was seated on the same table as Joanne after starting school late.
Customer service adviser Joanne says she always had a crush on Adam but when they moved to different secondary schools, the pair lost touch.

However, fate played a part and the pair finally reconnected at a primary school reunion.
"He was my favourite person to be around at school as he used to always make me laugh and help me with my work," said Joanne.
"We went our separate ways during our teenage years but there were a few occasions I had seen him in the park but hadn't got the courage to approach him.
"I have always had a crush on him and I had him on social media, but it seemed when one of us were single, the other wasn't which is annoying, but fate thankfully found its way.
"There was a primary school reunion in 2013 which we both attended, and I remember we still got on like we did all those years ago.

"He turned up with a girl who also went to our school and I must admit, I was pretty sad.
"Two months later, I seen on Facebook he had become single and I plucked up the courage to send him my number."
After taking the plunge to contact Adam, it all worked out perfectly, as the pair soon got together and moved in with each other after a year and a half.
They have been together for six years, and are now married with three dogs, Wiggles, seven, Phoebe, four and Stitch, three.

Joanne calls her decision to send Adam her number the "best decision" she had ever made, and says she knows they were "destined to be together".
"It was the best decision I had ever made as he is my soul mate who has pushed me to achieve things I never thought I could, like my degree in psychology," she said.
"It is crazy to think that we were once learning our times tables together and now we have been together for six years.
"After a few months, I knew that we were destined to be together; he never fails to make me smile.

"When his mum, Val Faldo, 57, found out we were dating, she went digging for photos from the Year Six leaving day and found quite a few of me.
"Adam couldn't believe he had pictures of his now wife from as a kid - it is just evidence that we are meant to be.
"Everything is just so easy with Adam, we never have any drama and if I am ever annoyed he makes me laugh and I forget what I was angry about."
Time to dig out the old school yearbook to see if our own true soulmate could be hidden in the pages...
