Everyone loves having time off work but hates using up their precious annual leave, however, this hack means you can get 11 days off over Christmas by using just four days holiday.
Christmas is the best time of year for lazing around and eating your body weight in chocolate, but sometimes just having the bank holidays off doesn't give us much time to make the most of the festive season.
However, as Christmas falls on a Tuesday this year, there is a clever hack to help you get as much time off as possible.

If you look at the calendar below of December and the first week of January, the dates ringed in blue are the weekends, red marks the bank holidays and the green rings are the days you need to book off.
For most people, Monday 24th is a working day, which is then followed by two bank holidays (Christmas and Boxing Day). Thursday 27th and Friday 28th are then classed as working days.
New Year's Eve is also a Monday, which means some of us will have to head back into the office for the Thursday, Friday and Monday after Christmas but if you plan it right you might not have to.
By booking off Monday 24th December, Thursday 27th December, Friday 28th December and Monday 31st December, you'll end up getting 11 uninterrupted days off, which sounds perfect.

If you are a little bit more generous with your holidays you could also take off Wednesday 2nd January, Thursday 3rd January and Friday 4th January which would give you 16 days off work just by using seven days holiday.
And if you're wondering how you would spend your time off, then a brand new Christmas TV channel has launched this week meaning you can watch festive films 24/7.
'True Christmas' will be available on Freeview (62), Sky (321), and Virgin (424).
