Joe Exotic Diagnosed With 'Aggressive' Cancer

The Tiger King star has been diagnosed with an 'aggressive' form of cancer after a prostate exam.

Joe Exotic has been diagnosed with an 'aggressive' form of cancer after undergoing a prostate exam, according to his Instagram.

The Tiger King star is currently serving 22 years in prison, on nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act and two counts of hiring to kill nemesis Carole Baskin.

He's currently campaigning to be 'released' after the devastating diagnosis, in order for him to 'get treated' surrounded by 'loved ones'.

Posting an article about the disease to Instagram, the Netflix sensation confirmed the news in a lengthy caption.

"It is with a sad face that I have to tell you the doctors called me in today to break the news that my prostate biopsy came back with an aggressive cancer", he said.

According to Exotic - real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage - he's currently waiting on the results for 'another test' as well.

Exotic emphasised that he doesn't "want any pity", and he's "sure Carole [Baskin] will have her own party over this". He stated that he only wants to be "released".

"What I need is the world to be my voice [and] to be released, they have the proof I DID NOT DO THIS! [sic]", he continued.

The star stressed that he wants to "go home and get treatment on my own or enjoy what life I have left with my loved ones".

Exotic recently spoke out about his co-star and enemy Carole Baskin, and her plan to sue Netflix for using her footage in the second season.

"Carole really doesn't want the truth coming out", he said. "Counting down the days until you all get to see the real story". Netflix is yet to respond publicly about the lawsuit, with just 13 days to go until the the upcoming season drops.

Tiger King 2 will be available to stream on Netflix from 17th November.
