Gabby Petito’s family have sent a heartfelt plea to Brian Laundrie during an emotional appearance on Dr. Phil.
Gabby’s father Joe Petito, her step-mother Tara, her mother Nichole Schmidt and her step-dad Jim all sat down with the American talk show host to discuss the pain and horror of Gabby’s death.
The family, who wore a green ribbon – the international symbol for mental health awareness – also made a plea to Brian Laundrie, Gabby’s fiancé who has been missing since last month.

Speaking directly to the camera, Nichole said: “We want to know the truth.”
Step-mother Tara added: “If you truly loved her, you should turn yourself in.”
“You’re only making it worse, for us and for himself and for his family,” stepfather Jim said. “Let us have some closure. Let us bring an end to this tragic period, and just be able to move on and remember Gabby and all the wonderful memories we had with her, and not looking at a TV screen everyday wondering if he was going to be found. Just turn yourself in.”

Dr Phil himself had some words for Brian, adding: “Brian, if you’re listening to me right now, let me tell you something. You may have done the wrong thing then, do the right thing now because you’re not helping yourself at this point. They’re not going to stop looking for you.
“I have a big platform and a big mouth, and this isn’t going to go away. I don’t care what your mother or your lawyer is telling you, do the right thing and turn yourself in, right now.”
Joe also had some choice words for the rest of the Laundrie family.

“Anyone who lived in that house is a coward,” he said. “They don't know how to stand up for their actions.”
Joe and Nicole Schmidt then revealed to Dr. Phil they had tried calling and texting the Laundries multiple times when they failed to hear from their daughter in early September - but had never received a response.
Brian has not been seen since late September, after interest grew in Gabby’s case.
Human remains, confirmed to be Gabby’s, were found in Wyoming. Preliminary enquiries found that Gabby had injuries consistent with homicide.

Brian is now considered a ‘person of interest’ in the case. An arrest warrant is also out for him, after the FBI alleged he had used someone else’s bank card to purchase goods while Gabby was missing.
