Goats Have Overtaken This Town in Wales

Goats Have Overtaken This Town in Wales

They've been eating flowers, hedges and getting up to no good.

Coronavirus has meant for us humans that we need to stay inside as much as possible.

That means the streets have emptied out with less passing traffic and people going about their business.

This emptiness however has meant in one town that goats are now running 'riot'.

In Llandudno in Wales, deserted streets has meant these minxy little animals have made their way down from the Great Orme - a headland on the coast - into the town centre.

The lack of people to deter them or tell them otherwise has meant they have been naughtily eating hedges and flowers and standing on stone garden walls.

But of course, it has no doubt provided some great entertainment from those stuck inside - imagine seeing goats at your lounge window having a good old chew on your daffs?

One part hilarious, one part devastating perhaps for those that are garden proud.

According to the BBC, Town councillor Carol Marubbi commented : "They are curious, goats are, and I think they are wondering what's going on like everybody else."

She added: "There isn't anyone else around so they probably decided they may as well take over."

People on social media are naturally finding the whole thing hilarious too.

One commented: "In the town near me (Llandudno) the mountain goats have moved further down out of hills and have started wandering around the town more to graze !!"

Another chipped in: "The only thing I care about is the mountain goats that have seized llandudno in wales while humans are on lockdown they said we our RECLAIMING our city we are OWNING our narrative".

A third said: "The Great Orme goats have reclaimed Llandudno! Long live our caprine overlords!"

These horned animals sound very opportunistic - why not take over the town whilst it's empty?

They even appear to be getting in trouble with the police (

Maybe once this pandemic is over they'll be running the country? Imagine it, a goat for a PM.
