Mum In Labour For 72 Hours Wins 60 Years’ Worth Of Domino’s Pizza After Naming Son Dominic

We can’t think of a better push present tbh.

When Clementine Oldfield and Anthony Lot welcomed their new son Dominic Julian Lot into the world earlier this month at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia, we image they thought they had everything they needed.

Little did they know their world was about to get even happier, as the proud parents also won the equivalent of 60 years' worth of Domino's pizza, which was running a competition for its 60th birthday.

Dominic was born at 1.46am on Wednesday December 9th, less than two hours after the competition began, which was offering $10,800 AUD (£6,059) (the equivalent of a $14 (£7.85) pizza every month for 60 years) to the first parents of either a Dominic or a Dominique born that day.

As it happens, Clementine's labour was a marathon 72-hours, so we can't think of anyone who deserves the prize more.

Speaking to A Current Affair, new dad Anthony said: "My mother sent us a screen shot of the promo on Tuesday and we laughed it off thinking well that's kind of funny because he's coming today on Tuesday, not on Wednesday."

They weren't just in it for the free pizza either, as the couple had already picked out the name Dominic as soon as they found out Clementine was carrying a boy, with the new mum saying: "It's been one of my favourite names since I was a little kid.

"We both liked it and we struggled with finding names we both liked to be honest."

"The delivery itself was somewhat of a rush as there tends to be a whole lot of complications that can occur after such a long lead up," Mr Lot told Daily Mail Australia.

"It was a very surreal experience, especially for Clem who hadn't really slept for the duration of the entire labour.

"She did such a great job and both myself and our families are incredibly proud of her."

CEO of Domino's Pizza, Australia and New Zealand, Nick Knight, added: "We have been blessed with 60 incredible years as a company, with 37 of those here in Australia.

"We wouldn't be celebrating this milestone without the support of our amazing customers and their faith in us to continue delivering delicious meals for great value.

"What better way for our Domino's family to mark this occasion and to share the joy of the next 60 years than with a truly unique birthday gift for someone's own bundle of joy - from our family to yours!"

Congratulations to the lucky couple!
