Ben and Jerry's has helped a number of us through many break-ups and sad times, and it looks like there might be a new CBD flavour available sooner rather than later.
According to the Ben and Jerry's website, the popular ice-cream chain is on board with the new "trend" of food infused with cannabidiol, which is an oil extract from the cannabis plant.

The company quoted research from the National Restaurant Association, which showed that 75 per cent of chefs believed food infused with the oil was one of the hottest food trends of this year.
However, as it stands, the Food And Drug Administration federal agency in the US has not legalised using the product in food and drink.
But the FDA will be having a public hearing today (31st May) on the legalisation of cannabidiol in food and drink, the ice-cream company sent a note for the hearing to show that it was in support of this.

It's unclear whether the CBD ice cream would be released in the UK, but there are CBD eateries here already.
A statement on the Ben And Jerry's site says: "You probably already know that we're fans of all things groovy - think: Half Baked and Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies.
"So it's no surprise that we can't wait to get into the latest food trend: cannabidiol, or CBD.

"We are committed to bringing CBD-infused ice cream to your freezer as soon as it's legalized at the federal level."
According to CBD Oil Review, cannabidiol doesn't get users high but it is a "psychoactive substance".
The website defines this as a substance that "changes an individual's mental state by impacting how the brain and central nervous system function." It adds that examples include "caffeine, chocolate, and CBD".
