Catwalks? You've got to be kitten me. Fashion Week is so last month - but London Dog Week is the event for all dog lovers, owners and doggos themselves to get in their diaries this month.

Running from Monday, 25th March until Sunday, 31st March, this is the first-of-its-kind event in Europe to celebrate the therapeutic and healing power of dogs and to help make London an even more dog-friendly city than it already is (because who doesn't smile when a furbaby gets on the Tube? Nobody, that's who).

Dog lovers will be encouraged to get involved in a number of tail wagging initiatives during the week and raise the bar in terms of championing puppy love.

There will be a fun-packed, dog-centric sassy schedule for all dog lovers.

There'll be everything from fashion shows, to grooming spas, competitions, office dog treat boxes, doggy dinner parties, the cuddle club and charity night walks - and they'll are listed on the London Dog Week website.

LDW co-founder, Lois Mallet Walker, spoke exclusively to Pretty52 and exlained: "A week after my mum passed, I bought my tiny poochon puppy, Pedro and it was love at first sight. He helped bring happiness back into my life and I truly discovered that unconditional love that dogs bring.

"I know both myself and [co-founder] Aneka have both gone through mental and physical health challenges and our dogs have really helped us through it.

"Sharing the power of how dogs are therapeutic and can help you keep a healthy frame of mind, alleviate stress and anxiety in addition to uniting its owner with the local community, is the message we want to spread throughout London".

Aneka added: "London is viewed as one of the loneliest cities in the world, yet dogs are natural people magnets and if we can use their ability to connect people across the capital, then we think it's a great way for people to forge friendships. I really believe that dogs are instrumental in making London less lonely".
