The trailer for brand new Dani's series - My Mum Tracy Beaker - dropped on Tuesday.
You can see the reunion between Tracy Beaker and her arch rival Justine Littlewood below.
Though most people celebrated her return, Dani took to Twitter to respond after trolls criticised her weight.
Dani tweeted: "Overwhelmed by all the love!! Sad that I've had to use my block button a couple of times though!! But I'm far too old for negativity!!
"And yes I've put on weight! We've been in lockdown all year! I ate some chocolate! Get over it! Size 10 isn't exactly huge now move on xx."
Dani's tweet received a lot of love on social media, one fan replied: "You're a legend, and look fab! Can't wait to see it xx."
One woman wrote: "Sorry about the negativity you've endured but just know that myself & so many others are so happy for you & your good news couldn't have come at a better time; especially for those of us who grew up with Beaker. In regards to weight, people should mind their own business."
A third fan shared: You are perfect just the way you Dani, myself & many others are so happy for the news you have shared with us about My Mum Tracy Beaker. Don't worry about people who spread negativity they are not even worth the time of day. People should not even be talking about weight."
Dani's My Mum Tracy Beaker co-star Montanna Thompson who plays Justine Littlewood agreed and said: "If [you're] big then I am too since we're both size 10 and anyway when did size matter."
Dani told Radio Times: "I got so many messages, people telling me that I'm fat, that I'm overweight and I was like a size six at the time.
"So I was like, 'Holy moly, if I'm fat, God knows what other people must be thinking if they're bigger than me', that must be just horrible.
"I can think of things really logically and be like, obviously, I'm not fat, that's ridiculous.
"This person, obviously, is just bored, or has something wrong with their life that they feel like this is the only way they can get some validation and I actually feel sorry for them."
Fans were shook after the first trailer for My Mum Tracy Beaker revealed the icy reunion between lifelong frenemies Tracy and JustineThe three-episode TV adaption is based on Jacqueline Wilson's book of the same name. The series also explores how their lives change drastically with the arrival of Tracy's rich new boyfriend, Sean Godfrey (Jordan Duvigneau).
Sean had a crush on Tracy when they were young, when he was simply known as 'Football'. Now, he is a recently retired footballer who owns a chain of gyms and he wants to whisk Tracy and Jess away to a life of palatial mansions and fancy cars. But in true Tracy Beaker style, everything starts to go pear-shaped.
There will be some more familiar faces returning from Tracy's past including Tracy's foster mum Cam (Lisa Coleman) and her biological mum Carly played by Bridgerton star Ruth Gemmell.
Dani spoke to Tyla about the legacy of the Tracy Beaker character and all the successful spin-offs from the original show. "We are a bit like Marvel, aren't we," jokes Dani, before discussing her guest appearances on the spin-offs. "Getting back into character isn't too hard because she's almost like a part of me now, even though we're so, so different. I'm nothing like her in real life I promise. She's a lot bossier than I am."
My Mum Tracy Beaker will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from Friday.
