Simon Cowell has been hospitalised after falling off an electric bicycle yesterday.
The 60-year-old X Factor judge - who was test riding the bike at his home in Malibu, California - was taken to hospital, where doctors discovered he had broken his back.
Simon is currently under observation in hospital, but will need surgery following the fall, his spokesperson confirmed yesterday evening.
The spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter: "Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family.

"He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He's doing fine, he's under observation and is in the best possible hands."
Later, the spokesperson added: "Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening."
The fall comes just days before Simon was due to return to America's Got Talent. The first live show is set to air in just two days' time, on Tuesday 11th August.

The music mogul has been spending lockdown with his family in Malibu - girlfriend Lauren Silverman and six-year-old son, Eric.
Just a few years ago, in October 2017, Simon injured himself after falling down the stairs at his home in London. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance and later explained he had fainted.
At the time, Simon blamed his fall on an unhealthy lifestyle and pledged to improve his health. And it seems Simon has found it easier to stick to his healthy regime during lockdown.

"I'm doing a bit of cooking. I'm exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet," he told Extra.
"The only difficult thing is when Eric orders a pizza... That's the number one thing I miss."
We're wishing Simon a speedy recovery.
