Harry Potter's Rupert Grint Joins Instagram To Share Snap Of New Baby And Reveal Her Unusual Name

Rupert Grint has finally posted a picture of his newborn daughter, who he shares with actress Georgia Groome.

The Harry Potter star joined Instagram on Tuesday to offer fans a glimpse of their little one, also revealing her unusual name.

"Hey Instagram....only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert," he wrote to his already 2million followers.

Taking to the comments, fans and friends of the actor gushed to congratulate him on his daughter, who was born in May.

"Welcome Weasley, it's about time. Love to Wednesday xx," wrote Draco Malfoy actor, Tom Felton.

Meanwhile, another follower wrote: "This made my day so much better".

A third chipped in: "How beautiful is your family!".

Seemingly more interested that he'd finally joined the 'gram, another fan penned: "I see hermione finally taught you how to use muggle technology". LOL.

Rupert and Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging actress, Georgia only announced they were expecting in April of this year, just weeks before Wednesday arrived.

A short but sweet statement from the couple said: "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."

Rupert and Georgia have been dating for nine years, first getting together back in 2011.

The couple are infamously private about their relationship - so much so, that many didn't even realise they were dating until a couple of years ago.

But Rupert hinted they would soon be starting a family back in 2018, when he discussed his desire to have children, and even pondered baby names.

"I'd like to settle down and have kids soon," he told The Guardian. "If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It's quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint's a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."

Rupert is best known for playing Harry's bumbling best friend Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, first appearing on screens as a child actor in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

He has since gone on to star in various TV shows, including Sky's Sick Note and BBC's The ABC Murders.
