Prince Harry's "favourite Aussie", 99-year-old Daphne Dunne, has sadly died just a few days after receiving a birthday card from expectant parents, Harry and Meghan.
Affectionately known as a royal super fan - especially of Harry's - Daphne died after falling ill with pneumonia.
She passed away at the Sydney Adventist Hospital on Monday, three days after her 99th birthday.
Her daughter, Michelle Haywood, told the Daily Mail: "She fought as hard as she could, but it just got too much. It's just so sad, you always want a little bit more heart".
Harry and Daphne had met many times, first in 2015 when Harry spotted her wearing her late husband, Albert Chowne's, Victoria Cross medal, which he was posthumously-awarded for his actions during the Second World War.
He died aged just 25 in 1945 during an attack on a Japanese machine gun post in Papua New Guinea.
But most recently it was a heart-warming moment outside the Sydney Opera House, during the royal couple's tour that caught the world's attention.
On their third meeting, Harry ran over to kneel next to her wheelchair and give her a hug and insisted that she meet his wife.
Speaking to Daphne at the time, he said: "I was looking for you earlier and hoped you'd be here, it's so good to see you again."
Meghan knelt down to hug Daphne and said: "I'm so glad to meet you."
Daphne said about the prince: "Harry is a wonderful man and I'm so happy he had found happiness."
She celebrated her 99th birthday in hospital surrounded by her children, grandchildren and nieces.
Her daughter Michelle said: "She had the most beautiful day, surrounded by so much love and colour and flowers."
The card Meghan and Harry sent to her for her birthday "meant so much" she added.
