Royal Baby News: 'It's Time We Stopped Pitting Meghan Markle And Princess Eugenie Against Each Other'

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all celebrate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby news without finding something to pick at?

When the couple announced they were expecting a baby on Valentine's Day, fans were overjoyed. On a day all about love, and, 37 years since Princess Diana announced her pregnancy with Harry, it was beautifully timed.

But unfortunately, once the news broke, unfair comments from cruel trolls followed swiftly behind, with many questioning why the couple had chosen this weekendnd to announce the news, and some going as far as to say Meghan, 39, was trying to "outdo" Princess Eugenie, who has just welcomed a baby of her own.

Really? Sigh.

Just minutes after the news dropped, one person tweeted: "Isn't Eugenie about to announce the name of her baby boy at any time? Didn't they "drop" their first pregnancy news at Eugenie's wedding. Why do they have to keep stealing this girl's thunder?"

Another added: "Maybe I'm a cynic but hasn't Meghan announced her big news whenever Eugenie has big news".

"Does Meghan not like Eugenie? Always trying to upstage her," one wrote.

And another tweeted: "Well we all knew Meghan was going to do something to upstage Eugenie's pregnancy announcement."

The comments were made in reference to reports that Prince Harry and Meghan announced their pregnancy with Archie - to close family members - at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.

According to reports, the decision was made simply because the wedding would be the last time they would see senior members of the royal family before their tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.

And considering the news was announced to the rest of the world on the first day of the tour, it's pretty imperative that the likes of the Queen and Prince Charles would find out in person.

But as usual, the finger was pointed toward Meghan "stealing Eugenie's thunder". Why is it always the women who are accused of upstaging each other? We're yet to see a comment solely directed towards Harry and Jack.

As one person pointed out: "Why is everyone so bitter about this? Why can't you be happy for both Meghan and Eugenie? Why are you trying to put two women against each other? Do you not like women? Get a grip, if she'd announced the pregnancy next month you'd still be moaning."

And another said: "I think it's lovely Meghan and Harry are having another baby, I'm also looking forward to finding out what Eugenie calls her baby.

"Turns out that I'm capable of more than one interest at a time."

And, as another pointed out: "On this day, 37 years ago, it was announced that Princess Diana was expecting her 2nd child, think today probably has special meaning for Harry."

It certainly seems like Meghan and Harry can't do right for doing wrong. Aren't they simply at a time in their lives where they're getting married and announcing pregnancies? After all, royal or otherwise, most of us have or will notice a time in which a large chunk of friends and family start making big announcements.

It's just life. Harry and Meghan are living theirs and minding their own business. Why do trolls find it so difficult to do the same?
