Married At First Sight Australia Star's Ines Bašić Says She Was Suicidal After Trolling Over Sam Affair

Ines Bašić was the villain on her season of the show - but she says the vitriol that has been sent her way since is hard to bare.

Married At First Sight Australia star Ines Bašić has revealed she was trolled so mercilessly for her actions on the show, that she was left feeling suicidal.

The reality star famously had an affair with fellow contestant Sam Ball during the series, while they were both in their retrospective marriages, with Bronson Norrish and Elizabeth Sobinoff.

And while she didn't seem phased by her actions while on the show, she says that she spent the reunion episode feeling "suicidal" - and this only got worse when the public backlash kicked in.

Speaking to The Sun, Ines said her weight dropped from 8stone 11lbs to an underweight 6st 6lbs.

"I was suicidal. I was taking valium for my anxiety," she says. "I over-medicated before the reunion and shouldn't have drank. I don't even remember being there."

While the reunion episode is yet to air in the UK, as the series is still in full swing over on E4, it's not a surprise to learn that she was subject to some rather savage home truths from her fellow contestants when she returned to the set.

And following her time on the show, Ines also faced death threats aplenty, alongside a ton of angry messages from people upset about how she had treated Bronson and Lizzie.

"It was real hard. The whole thing... my weight loss was so severe," she added to the publication.

"I was too scared, people were sending me rape and death threats every day. I was too stressed to eat and couldn't stomach anything while it was airing. Once it stopped airing I slowly started getting better."

Ines said there was also a lot that went on during filming which had an affect on her mental health.

For one, while filming in the Gold Coast, she saw somebody take their own life from a balcony. Plus, she was left heartbroken to discover that a close friend had died while in the middle of filming.

Happily, Ines is no longer in such a dark place and is now studying law, while working part time as an influencer.

Whatever we may have thought of her behaviour on the show, we're glad she's feeling better now.
