‘Love Island’ Star Marcel Says He Nearly Died After Being Rushed To Hospital At The Weekend

Love Island's Marcel Somerville has made the shocking admission that he nearly died after being rushed to hospital this weekend.

Taking to his Instagram Stories from a hospital bed, the 33-year-old former Blazin' Squad star thanked followers for their messages of love and support.

Posting on social media, Marcel shared an image of himself in the hospital bed, writing "all the wires" as he showed a close up of his arm hooked up to a machine.

"This is just a message to everyone that has been sending all their prayers and blessings. They don't go missed, I really appreciate them, I really need them right now," he said to the camera.

"It's been a very, very hard few days for me. Saturday was literally the worst day of my life and I nearly died but, yeah, just keep sending them my way because I really need them.

"Thank you so much. Big love, from Marce."

Although reports suggest that Marcel was rushed to hospital following violent vomiting and a fever, this has not been confirmed and Tyla has reached out to Marcel's rep for comment.

It was only a couple of days ago that Marcel - who was a contestant in the third series of Love Island - had been active on Instagram.

He had been sharing a series of posts in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and just a few days earlier he posted a loved up snap with his girlfriend Rebecca Vieira.

The couple have been in lockdown together and recently celebrated their one-year anniversary, with Marcel sharing a cute snap and even appearing to hint at engagement, with a diamond ring emoji.

"Happy Anniversary @rebeccavieirax my sweetness! Mad spending our anniversary on lockdown but there's no one in the world I'd rather be spending 24/7 with mama.

"Love you so much! We've had a mad year, if they only knew! But we're here about to start the next 365 Let's Go, I'm so ready."

Rebecca, meanwhile, took to her Instagram Stories today to post a montage of images and video clips of the pair together, before posting a snap of Marcel on her grid, captioned: "My sun & stars - i love you."

We hope Marcel is feeling better soon and wish him a super speedy recovery.
