Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has welcomed a baby boy.

While Leighton and her partner Adam Brody (The O.C) initially kept tight lipped on the news, it was confirmed the actress, 34, had given birth when Adam appeared on Hold The Phone Comedy Twitch show, The Fun Time Boys Game Night Spectacular.

At first, the rather tired looking actor seemed a little sheepish when asked how he was, simply saying he was "pretty well", with a smile on his face.

But another person on the show eventually pushed: "Adam, you have a new baby,".

To which the 40-year-old said: "I have a new - yeah, since last I played I have a new kid.

"I have a boy and he's a dream, he's a dream boy."

While the couple didn't reveal exactly when they welcomed the little one, we do know that the last Twitch stream was held on August 21st, so Leighton must have gone into labour at some point in the last three weeks.

Leighton and Adam are already parents to five-year-old Arlo Day.

The couple met while filming The Oranges back in 2010, and got engaged just three years later.

They tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed daughter Arlo a year later.

Leighton and Adam are always private about their personal lives, but the news broke that she was pregnant in April this year, when the Gossip Girl star was pictured with a baby bump.

And it's basically life imitating art, as Leighton plays Angie D'Amato in ABC's Single Parents, while Adam plays the father of her baby.

Speaking to Porter Edit about her family ahead of the newborn's arrival, she said: "I wouldn't change anything [in the past] because I'm happy where I am now.

"I think that that's one of the many wonderful parts of not only having a child and meeting your soulmate, but also I feel really lucky career-wise - [I'm] really in a place that I want to be."
