Laura Whitmore clapped back at Instagram trolls last night, who criticised her parenting.

New mum Laura, 36, shared a photo on her social media with husband Iain Stirling and what appears to be their baby girl in a basket.

The family can be seen in a park enjoying the sunny weather. But some followers were critical of the summery snap, with a number of social media users calling out Laura for apparently 'covering her baby with a blanket'.

One person commented: "Loving the summer vibe but please don't cover the baby with blanket traps heat."

Meanwhile another said: "It's actually extremely dangerous."

However, others defended Laura, with one writing: "It's not a blanket though. A muslin cover/mosquito net to protect the baby."

And another added: "It's to protect her and don't tell Laura how to parent."

Later, Laura shared a screengrab on her stories, of one of the followers apologising for "sticking their beak in".

"God I despise it when I see people poking their beaks in over ridiculous aspects of people's parenting... but on this occasion I stuck my beak in and I'm glad it was told to shut up. Enjoy your week Laura xx."

Meanwhile the presenter responded: "Deleting your comment as just don't want you to get any hate."

Laura also added in the caption: "No judgement, just positivity".

Following the comments, another fan added: "Ahh.... lovely family day out. But all these perfect parents... Who's to say the baby isn't lying on the blanky with you?!? What the eye sees, the mind then jumps to judgemental conclusions!! One should never assume.. Looking lovely Laura."

Laura an Iain announced the arrival of their baby girl at the start of April. "Thanks for all the kind messages at this time. We are in love x," she wrote, alongside a selfie with the baby.

And just this week, the presenter announced Love Island will be returning to our screens soon, after sharing a number of promo posts.

"This is not a drill #LoveIsland," Laura wrote.

It's expected the show will return later this month, but a date has not yet been confirmed.
