Love Island's Georgia Steel has shared a lengthy Instagram statement over her break-up with Sam Bird amid reports she'd been 'disloyal with an ex'.

Gee hit out at claims that a 'third party' was behind their rift, and instead explained she had fallen out of love with the personal trainer.

Sharing a series of posts on her Instagram story, Georgia said: "Last night Sam told me he was going to the press so I just want to make clear ahead of any interviews he does that there was NO third party involved in the break up between him and I."

Georgia went on to explain why her ex-beau believed she had 'cheated' on him, and claimed Sam had read messages on her phone sent to a close pal.

"Sam thinks I cheated because he went through my phone, read and took screen shots of banter I had between me and my best mate," continued the reality star.

"The banter was about my ex boyfriend from which he's then put two and two together and come up with an imaginary scenario."

Confirming she did stay at a former flame's house as sources had suggested, Georgia insisted that 'nothing happened' between them and she stayed in the spare room.

Gee continued: "I'm honestly not like that. I went over to collect some things he had of mine which I needed for the flat and then ended up having a heart to heart as I was very down as me and Sam had been constantly arguing.

Georgia and Sam found love on this year's series of Love Island, and, like the most of the co-stars, moved in together shortly after their return to the UK.

"He was a lovely boyfriend and I did really love him but moving in so soon and the public pressure did make me feel very trapped," read Georgia's statement.

"I gave our relationship everything as I did want to make it work and I was loyal throughout. But you can't help your feelings.

"I'm stubborn and wanted to prove the public wrong about me and him but the reality is it just didn't work."

The Love Island star finished her emotional post by saying she hoped that both of them will be able to find 'the one' in the future.

Sam and Georgia both announced their split on Wednesday evening, just a day after their loved-up appearance on the red carpet at a showbiz bash.

The personal trainer also confirmed their break-up was over Georgia's ex on Thursday, denying claims it was over their tour manager.
